Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnathon Pickett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drakon Ovanoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Johnathon Pickett has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Johnathon Pickett seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Johnathon Pickett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Drakon Ovanoff! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pickett tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ovanoff tries to clinch but Pickett is having none of it. Ovanoff gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ovanoff tries to pull guard but Pickett won't allow it.

It looks like Johnathon Pickett has been cut. Pickett breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice takedown defense from Pickett. No joy for Ovanoff on that attempt. Pickett will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ovanoff forces Pickett back against the cage and clinches. Ovanoff manages to break the clinch.
Pickett misses with a head kick.
Ovanoff darts in and clinches Pickett up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pickett breaks from the clinch.
Ovanoff moves into the clinch. Pickett tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ovanoff just stands there and leans against the cage. Ovanoff is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Pickett lands a good knee to the midsection. Ovanoff won't want to take too many of those. Ovanoff's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Pickett throws a poor cross that misses
and Ovanoff counters with a straight right hand. Ovanoff shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pickett as he avoids it easily. Johnathon Pickett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Drakon Ovanoff. Pickett darts in and clinches Ovanoff up against the cage. Ovanoff ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ovanoff no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pickett missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Pickett drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ovanoff looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ovanoff looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ovanoff! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ovanoff looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Pickett is avoiding damage well.
Ovanoff stands up. Ovanoff has managed to clinch.
Pickett fails to pull guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ovanoff successfully pulls guard.
Ovanoff has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pickett wants to control from the top but Ovanoff keeps moving. Ovanoff wants to stand but Pickett is controlling the position. Ovanoff has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Pickett throws a big right hand that misses. Pickett landing some decent shots from guard. Ovanoff keeping moving, preventing Pickett from controlling successfully. Ovanoff is pulling down on Pickett's head. It's preventing any offense from Pickett, at least for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pickett drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ovanoff dives on top into guard. Pickett wants to sweep but no luck. Ovanoff is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Ovanoff stands up and waves to Pickett to follow him. Ovanoff has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Pickett is landing a low percentage of strikes. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ovanoff changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pickett tries to avoid it but Ovanoff manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pickett to the ground. Pickett escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Drakon Ovanoff dominated that round. The cut man is working on Johnathon Pickett's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Ovanoff tries to clinch up and Pickett counters by moving into the clinch. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ovanoff. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Pickett breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ovanoff moves into the clinch. Ovanoff wants to break free but Pickett has control.
Ovanoff is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ovanoff jumps into guard, dragging Pickett to the mat.
Ovanoff avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Pickett throwing strikes but missing. Ovanoff keeping moving, preventing Pickett from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ovanoff manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pickett manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ovanoff is looking for a kimura but Pickett is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ovanoff to get the leverage. Ovanoff slows the pace down in half guard. Ovanoff throwing shots but Pickett is blocking nicely. Ovanoff works his foot free and advances to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ovanoff tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ovanoff wants to control the pace but Pickett is squirming around nicely. Ovanoff is trying to control here but Pickett has managed to regain half guard.
Ovanoff thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pickett's head. Ovanoff trying to control from half guard but Pickett is working away. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Drakon Ovanoff hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Ovanoff is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ovanoff throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pickett. Ovanoff tries to clinch but Pickett is having none of it. Ovanoff fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Pickett moves out of range of the body kick from Ovanoff.

Ovanoff tries to clinch but Pickett is having none of it. Ovanoff closes the distance and clinches. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pickett is trying to pull guard but Ovanoff turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Pickett pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Drakon Ovanoff showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Johnathon Pickett's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Ovanoff is looking to break free of the clinch but Pickett has double underhooks. Ovanoff lands a hook that snaps the head of Pickett backwards. Pickett breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Johnathon Pickett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Drakon Ovanoff. Ovanoff is looking to break free of the clinch but Pickett has double underhooks. Ovanoff stalling in the clinch but Pickett improves position. Come on Ovanoff - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Pickett has Ovanoff pressed against the cage, preventing Ovanoff from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Pickett trying to stall but Ovanoff improves his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ovanoff has Pickett pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pickett manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Pickett breaks from the clinch.
Pickett misses with a jab, cross combination.
A combination from Pickett does no damage. Some bone on bone action there as Pickett checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Ovanoff clinches. Pickett swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Pickett's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Pickett slaps away a takedown attempt from Ovanoff, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ovanoff goes for a double leg but Pickett avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pickett continues to drive forward. Ovanoff takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pickett escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ovanoff has his takedown stuffed and Pickett counters by clinching up. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Ovanoff is looking to break free of the clinch but Pickett has double underhooks.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Drakon Ovanoff. Well Ovanoff has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
