PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Loyto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Odinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Loyto Machida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryan Odinson!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida wants to clinch up but Odinson keeps it at a distance.
Machida scores with a push kick.

Machida defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Odinson.

Odinson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Machida misses with a jab, cross combination.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Odinson enables Machida to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Odinson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Odinson has his foot on Machida's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Machida works his way back into a safe position though.

Loyto Machida has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Odinson holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Machida shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Odinson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

That was a close round but I would say that Loyto Machida will probably get the nod.

Loyto Machida is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Odinson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Machida is looking to escape.

Odinson has hold of Machida's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Machida manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Odinson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Machida turns into him and now he's in Odinson's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bryan Odinson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Odinson shoots in but Machida avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Odinson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Machida on his heels. He'll look to pass Machida's guard now, I'm sure.

Odinson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Machida has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Odinson has managed to get both his arms back between Machida's legs - danger averted.

Bryan Odinson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Odinson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
