Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Russell Ives (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Russell Ives! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aaron Stone! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stone avoids a punch combination nicely.
Stone throws a jab but it's blocked by Ives. Aaron Stone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stone gets the takedown into side control. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Ives defending against the ground and pound. Stone fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Stone passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Ives! Stone looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Stone misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ives is in all sorts of trouble here.
Poor strikes thrown by Stone there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Stone throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Stone landing strikes from the mount. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ives really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Stone working Ives over with strikes here. Ives tries to reverse the position but Stone maintains control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stone lands a big elbow. Stone thowing shots but they're missing. Stone looking to finish with strikes here!
BOOM! Stone connects with a massive shot to the dome!
This has been an exciting period of action! Stone misses with a head shot. Stone working Ives over with strikes here. Ives is trying desperately to improve position. Stone wants to control but Ives has made it back to half guard. Nice work. Stone trying to control the action but Ives is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Stone is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Stone throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ives works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Stone looking to pass the guard. Ives looking for a sweep. Not yet Ives, not yet. Ives is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Stone postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Stone passes easily into side control. Nice work. Stone tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stone working the ground and pound. Stone throws an elbow but Ives slips to the side and avoids it well. Ives struggling a bit here. Stone landing strikes. Stone throwing shots but missing, from side control. Stone postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Ives manages to get back to half guard. Stone wants to free his trapped foot but Ives is holding on for dear life with his legs. Stone thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Stone prevents Ives from improving his position. Ives is trying to maintain the position but Stone is very close to passing his half guard. Ives is in trouble now - Stone has advanced to mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Stone scoring with strikes but Ives is staying in there. Ives tries to hold on but Stone postures up. Stone working Ives over with strikes here.
It looks like Russell Ives has been cut. Stone looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Ives is rocked!
Russell Ives's cut is getting worse. A big strike lands for Stone! That's really hurt Ives and he's turned his back - Stone keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Stone jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aaron Stone! Aaron Stone was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
