Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Boris Hutchinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trevor Kennedy! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kennedy moves into the clinch successfully.
Kennedy has picked Hutchinson up - he's going for a ride! Kennedy dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Hutchinson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kennedy is trying to control. Hutchinson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Hutchinson is looking to improve his position.
Kennedy is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Hutchinson reverses the position - he's now on top in Kennedy's guard. Hutchinson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hutchinson trying to control but Kennedy is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hutchinson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Hutchinson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Kennedy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hutchinson defends well. Hutchinson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Hutchinson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Boris Hutchinson just wasn't active enough. Hutchinson doesn't manage to clinch there - Kennedy circles away.
A combination from Hutchinson does no damage. Hutchinson is looking to clinch. Kennedy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kennedy keeps the fight on the outside. Hutchinson has closed the distance and engaged Kennedy in a clinch.

Hutchinson is controlling Kennedy's position as best he can from this difficult position. Hutchinson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kennedy on the ground. Hutchinson is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Kennedy jumps into side control! You can see the frustration on Hutchinson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hutchinson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hutchinson is trying to control Kennedy's posture but Kennedy avoids it. Kennedy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hutchinson keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hutchinson pushes Kennedy away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kennedy gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Hutchinson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hutchinson tries to improve position but can't. Hutchinson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Hutchinson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hutchinson is not content to let Kennedy control the position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Hutchinson is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Kennedy jumps into side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Boris Hutchinson will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kennedy swings and misses with a shot to the body and Hutchinson counters with a straight right hand. Hutchinson throws a shot to the body.
Kennedy shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hutchinson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Trevor Kennedy has got the better of the ground game so far. Hutchinson wants to stand but Kennedy is controlling the position. Hutchinson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Hutchinson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Kennedy trying to control but Hutchinson is working from the bottom.

We're going to have a standup here because Boris Hutchinson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Kennedy has taken the fight to the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Kennedy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kennedy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Hutchinson postures up in Kennedy's guard and throws a big left but Kennedy blocks it. Kennedy is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hutchinson preventing the sweep. Hutchinson wants to control from the top but Kennedy keeps moving. Hutchinson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hutchinson postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Boris Hutchinson. Hutchinson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kennedy paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Kennedy. Hutchinson does a little dance to reset his feet. Hutchinson closes the distance looking to clinch so Kennedy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kennedy is fighting to break Hutchinson's control of his arms but Hutchinson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Hutchinson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hutchinson throwing strikes here but Kennedy is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Hutchinson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kennedy is looking to escape. Kennedy is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kennedy is squirming around, avoiding Hutchinson's attempts to control the action. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kennedy tries to lock up and control but Hutchinson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Trevor Kennedy will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Kennedy scores with a takedown into Hutchinson's guard. Kennedy wants to control from the top but Hutchinson keeps moving. Kennedy looking to pass the guard. Hutchinson wants to sweep but no luck. Hutchinson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kennedy controls the pace. Hutchinson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hutchinson tries to clinch up. A head kick misses from Kennedy. Kennedy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hutchinson.

Kennedy has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hutchinson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Kennedy looking for the choke from the back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. I really don't envy Hutchinson right now.
Kennedy biding his time, controlling Hutchinson. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kennedy looking to break Hutchinson's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Hutchinson remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Kennedy will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Hutchinson trying to control the position but Kennedy manages to sink in the hooks. Hutchinson wants to escape the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hutchinson's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Kennedy's hands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hutchinson trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Hutchinson fending off the submission attempt from Kennedy. Kennedy is hanging on to Hutchinson's back as he tries to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kennedy has the hooks in. Hutchinson is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Kennedy working for the choke. You can see the frustration on Hutchinson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that's the end of the fight! Trevor Kennedy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Kennedy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
