The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hughs.

Hughs closes the distance and clinches.

Manakain pulls guard.
Hughs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Manakain swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hughs trying to control the position from guard on top but Manakain is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Manakain uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Manakain drops Hughs with a nice combination! Manakain dives into Hughs's guard, looking to finish!

Hughs is rocked!

It looks like Jaxson Hughs has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Manakain is pushing down on Hughs's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hughs is fighting to maintain full guard but Manakain has managed to sneak the leg through.
Hughs is still in real trouble! Can Manakain finish him?
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hughs can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hughs looks winded!

Manakain decides to stand up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Manakain grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Hughs takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Manakain cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
