The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
johnson fakes the leg kick and cracks Cooper in the body.
Cooper will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

johnson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

johnson decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Cooper takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Cooper throws a series of strikes that have johnson backpedaling.

johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cooper has his foot on johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. johnson works his way back into a safe position though.

johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cooper can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cooper stands and throws johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cooper is working away from the top position though.

Cooper frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. johnson turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Cooper off and cradles johnson's limp body as Cooper celebrates with his corner.
