Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bubba Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nate Coleman! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones misses with a combination
and Coleman counters with a takedown into side control. Jones takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Coleman works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Jones is looking for a sweep. Jones wants to control but Coleman postures up. Coleman is chipping away with strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Coleman scores with a couple of short elbows. Coleman happy to just control the position for now. Coleman tries to advance to mount but can't. Jones is looking to reverse the position. Coleman landing a few strikes. Jones is trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones taking a bit of punishment here - Coleman scoring with strikes. Jones taking punishment in the form of punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Coleman lands an elbow. Coleman scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jones to see if he's OK. Coleman in side control lands a decent elbow. Coleman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Coleman happy to just control the position for now. Jones tries to buck Coleman off but Coleman is having none of it. Jones is working hard here to advance position. Coleman working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Coleman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coleman working the head with strikes. Coleman lands a few punches from side control. Jones is looking for a sweep. Jones gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Jones tries to get to full guard but Coleman has control of the leg. Ground and pound from Coleman. Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Coleman pulls his head out easily. Nice strikes from Coleman there. Coleman working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Jones's thigh. Jones counters though and makes it back to full guard. Coleman connects with a couple of short punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jones being controlled here, momentarily. Jones wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Coleman is now in half guard. Jones taking some punishment here, with Coleman in his half guard. Jones tries to roll over but Coleman keeps him under control. Coleman lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Coleman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Coleman. Jones is trying to control but can't.
Jones is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Coleman scores with a couple of nice shots. Jones on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Coleman looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Coleman is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Coleman prevents Jones from improving his position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Coleman is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jones is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nate Coleman dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jones throws a hook to the side of Coleman's head but Coleman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Jones misses with an uppercut. Coleman takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Jones sizes up Coleman with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Jones dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Jones looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Coleman.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Excellent takedown into side control there by Coleman. Jones is trying to get back to half guard. Jones wants to control but Coleman postures up.

Jones is looking for a sweep. Coleman trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom. Coleman looks up at the clock and then as Jones takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Coleman smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Jones defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Jones taking shots to the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Coleman pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Coleman controlling the pace for now. Jones tries to lock up and control but Coleman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Coleman landing strikes, looking to finish! Coleman controlling the pace for now. Coleman fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Oh Jones is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Coleman cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Coleman unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Jones wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Coleman celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nate Coleman!
