Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Karl Hungus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rolando Souto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hungus comes to the cage accompanied by Marilyn Manson - Sweet Dreams. Souto has chosen Jorge Quintero - 300 violin orchestra as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
28 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karl Hungus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rolando Souto! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Souto dives in and grabs Hungus's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hungus pushes down on Souto's head and hops out. Hungus throws an overhand right that lands on Souto's shoulder, as Souto tries to avoid the shot. Sloppy strikes from Hungus. Those never looked like landing. Hungus gets tackled into the cage by Souto. Souto maintains the clinch. Hungus tries to throw a body punch but Souto avoids it by throwing Hungus back against the cage. Hungus misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Souto.
Souto can't get the takedown.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Souto has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Hungus breaks from the clinch.
The fighters circling - Souto throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Souto misses with an uppercut. Hungus saw that one coming. Souto scores with a push kick. Hungus connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Hungus looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Hungus works over Souto's head and body with a nice combination. Souto tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hungus swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hungus rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Souto moves out of range and avoids them all easily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Souto looking to score a takedown here. Hungus is defending well but Souto drives through and ends up in Hungus's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Souto postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Hungus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Souto can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hungus seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hungus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hungus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Souto wants to get back to full guard. Hungus seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The fighters are battling for position here. Souto manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Hungus throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hungus trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hungus wants to control from the top but Souto keeps moving. Hungus is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Souto is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Hungus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hungus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hungus loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hungus trying to control but Souto is working from the bottom. Hungus postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Souto wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Hungus keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Souto's head. Hungus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Souto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hungus has managed to get both his arms back between Souto's legs - danger averted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Souto has his foot on Hungus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hungus works his way back into a safe position though. Hungus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hungus is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Hungus with a flurry of punches that miss. Hungus throws a big right hand that misses. Souto is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Souto had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hungus defends it easily. Hungus wants to control from the top but Souto keeps moving. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hungus is pushing down on Souto's leg trying to pass to half guard. Souto is fighting to maintain full guard but Hungus has managed to sneak the leg through. Hungus is figuring out what he wants to do next. Souto is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hungus's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hungus's back! Hungus tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hungus working to try and regain half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Karl Hungus will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Souto throws a big elbow that misses. Souto wants to control from the top but Hungus keeps moving. Hungus controls Souto momentarily but Souto frees himself. Souto not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Hungus not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Souto pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Souto wants to clinch. Souto fails with a takedown attempt. Hungus jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Souto shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Souto was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hungus sneaks back into half guard. Hungus has hold of Souto's hands but Souto slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Souto prevents Hungus from improving his position.

Hungus lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Souto blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hungus. Hungus wants to work for an arm triangle but Souto is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hungus is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Souto has managed to free his arm - good work. Hungus is thwarting Souto's attempts to control the position. Hungus winds up and cracks Souto with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Karl Hungus dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Horrible takedown by Souto or perhaps it was just good defense by Hungus which made him look bad. Hungus circles away from the clinch attempt.

Rolando Souto has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Hungus looks to score with a jab to the body but Souto is just out of range. Hungus misses with a double jab.
Souto darts in and clinches Hungus up against the cage. Souto with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Hungus lands a nice knee to the body. Hungus prevents Souto from breaking the clinch. A body shot lands from Hungus.
Hungus has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Souto clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Souto covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Souto trying to control the hands but Hungus won't let him. Souto takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
