Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Landon Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keiichi Yamada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Landon Austin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Keiichi Yamada!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin throws a low kick but it's checked well by Yamada.
Yamada tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Austin darts in and clinches Yamada up against the cage.

Yamada is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Austin is keeping busy.
I was talking to Austin's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Yamada has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Yamada has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Austin regains guard immediately.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Yamada drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Austin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Yamada has Austin in his guard.

Yamada escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Austin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Yamada is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Austin is adopting a defensive guard.
Yamada wants to control from the top but Austin keeps moving.
Yamada stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Austin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Austin is pulling down on Yamada's head to control his posture.
Austin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Landon Austin.

Yamada's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Austin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Yamada takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Austin clobbers Yamada with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Yamada drops down looking for an ankle pick but Austin pulls his leg out and moves away.
Austin is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Yamada has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Austin uses from the top position.
