Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shelton Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Guerra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shelton Delgado has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shelton Delgado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Antonio Guerra!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Delgado gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Delgado tries to pull guard but Guerra forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Delgado has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Guerra uses from the top position.
Guerra wants to pass the guard but Delgado is keeping the position.
Delgado seems keen to control Guerra's posture.
Guerra trying to control but Delgado is working from the bottom.

Delgado looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Delgado has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Guerra can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Guerra got a little sloppy there for a moment and Delgado has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Guerra has managed to get both his arms back between Delgado's legs - danger averted.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Delgado could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

and Delgado makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Guerra might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Delgado haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Guerra wants to sweep here but Delgado controlling him for the moment.

Guerra is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Delgado can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Delgado is squirming around, avoiding Guerra's attempts to control the action.

Guerra is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Delgado seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
This has been an exciting period of action!

That was a close second round but I would say that Shelton Delgado will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!
