Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blair Sykes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juninho Pflug (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Juninho Pflug will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Blair Sykes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juninho Pflug!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pflug fails to land with a series of punches.
Sykes tries for a takedown but Pflug sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Pflug rushes Sykes and presses him up against the cage.
Pflug tries to land knees in the clinch but Sykes avoids the damage to the body.
Sykes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pflug just stands there and leans against the cage.

Pflug turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Pflug stands up and beckons Sykes to his feet.

Pflug dives in and scores a takedown into Sykes's guard.
Pflug really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sykes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sykes wants to stand but Pflug is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sykes has a closed guard, preventing Pflug from standing up.
Sykes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sykes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pflug is one step ahead there.
Sykes throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Pflug decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Pflug has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Pflug pulls guard successfully.
Pflug is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Pflug is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Sykes manages to get to full guard.
Sykes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Pflug would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sykes controls Pflug momentarily but Pflug frees himself.
Sykes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pflug is one step ahead there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sykes has a closed guard, preventing Pflug from standing up.
Sykes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pflug is controlling him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Pflug lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sykes circles away quickly and effectively.

Pflug closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Pflug struggles to land a body shot inside as Sykes controls his hands.

Sykes pulls guard.
Pflug wanted to stand there but Sykes had control of the position.
Sykes is looking to sweep but instead, Pflug has passed into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sykes is trying to maintain the position but Pflug is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Juninho Pflug dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Sykes avoids the head kick by Pflug.

Pflug shoots in and bounces Sykes off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Pflug would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Pflug wants to stand and escape but instead Sykes has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Pflug working for a triangle but Sykes defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sykes stands up from Pflug's guard - Sykes perhaps looking for a knockout.

Sykes fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pflug to the ground. Sykes is now in Pflug's guard.
Sykes scoring with punches to the head and body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sykes is standing up over Pflug. Pflug looks to escape but Sykes dives into side control.
Pflug is breathing heavily.

Sykes thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pflug keeps Sykes under control for a moment.

Pflug wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Sykes seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Pflug is tapping! Wow, great finish!
