Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Apo Abukay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Coors Light!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Light clinches up against the cage.
Light breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Light drives through and clinches with Abukay against the cage.
Light presses Abukay against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Abukay tries to pull guard but Light holds him up against the cage and eventually Abukay drops back down to his feet.
Light decides to pull guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Light wants to stand up but Abukay is controlling him.
Light tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Abukay wants to pass the guard but Light is keeping the position.
Abukay lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Light is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Abukay is looking to work some ground and pound but Light has wrist control.
Light is looking to stand up but Abukay isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Abukay wanted to stand there but Light had control of the position.
Abukay has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Abukay trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Abukay controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Abukay looking to sit in guard and control but Light gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Abukay looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Abukay is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Light is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Abukay is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Abukay working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Light doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Light manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Abukay is looking for a triangle but Light pushes his legs off easily.
Light with a flurry of punches that miss.
Light throws a strike but Abukay rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Light is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Abukay is looking to stand up but Light won't let him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Light wants to sweep but no luck.
Abukay would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Light trying to keep a closed guard but Abukay is proving a slippery customer.
Abukay trying to control but Light is working from the bottom.
Apo Abukay has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Light shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Light is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Abukay will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Abukay pushes a forearm under Light's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Light is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Apo Abukay!
As Apo Abukay got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: did you crack my teeth men? I guess not hehehe'.
