Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Evan Oliver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Gsp!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliver scores with a three punch combo!
It looks like Greg Gsp has been cut.
Greg Gsp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oliver shoots in for a double leg but Gsp sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Gsp throws a sloppy head kick and Oliver moves out of range easily.
Gsp fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Oliver avoids it really well and circles away.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Gsp.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Oliver pushes Gsp away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gsp gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Oliver manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Oliver could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Oliver is in a horrible position here. Gsp smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
It looks like Evan Oliver has been cut.
Oliver is wriggling around trying to escape.
Oliver avoids a strike by Gsp and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Gsp's guard! Fantastic escape!
Oliver sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gsp's guard.
Gsp kicks Oliver off and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gsp misses with a series of wild punches.
Gsp fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gsp tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Oliver manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Oliver closes the distance and clinches.

Gsp is trying to break the clinch but Oliver has him pressed against the cage.
Oliver is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Oliver escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gsp throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Oliver's waist but Oliver gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gsp off to one side.
Evan Oliver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Gsp.

Nice takedown defense from Oliver. No joy for Gsp on that attempt.

Oliver tries to clinch up but Gsp circles away and keeps his distance.

Gsp swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Oliver counters with a nice body shot.
Gsp throws a combination that misses
and Gsp takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Gsp keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Oliver shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gsp as he avoids it easily.

and Oliver counters with a big head kick but Gsp shrugs it off.
Oliver lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gsp on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Oliver. Oliver obviously looking to wear him down.
Oliver throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Gsp.
Oliver takes the fight into the clinch.
Gsp is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Oliver is defending well.

Oliver tries to pull guard but Gsp holds him up against the cage and eventually Oliver drops back down to his feet.

Gsp has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Oliver after a bit of a struggle.
Oliver jumps guard but Gsp turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Gsp misses with a body punch.
Oliver breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Horrible takedown by Oliver or perhaps it was just good defense by Gsp which made him look bad.
Oliver tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gsp defends well and Oliver ends up having to push Gsp into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Evan Oliver dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Gsp shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Oliver eats them both and turns towards Gsp to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gsp.

Gsp throws a series of punches but Oliver avoids them all with ease.

Oliver lands with a kick to the ribs.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Oliver looks for a takedown but Gsp sprawls well.
Gsp gets the takedown into side control.

Oliver bucks up and tries to throw Gsp off but instead Gsp has got his back!
Can Oliver hold on?! Gsp is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
The referee is taking a good look at Oliver as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Gsp!

Gsp connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Oliver to escape the position.
Gsp is scoring with a succession of shots from the back. Oliver is covering up - he's had enough and the ref steps in to end the fight!
