The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mattsen defending well as Almeida loads up on a big left hand.
Mattsen shoots in but Almeida avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mattsen fails with a takedown attempt.
Mattsen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Almeida sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mattsen somewhat.
Rafael Almeida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikael Mattsen.
Almeida darts in looking for a takedown but Mattsen gets double underhooks and turns Almeida into the cage.
Almeida drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mattsen gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mattsen is pushing Almeida up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Almeida gets underhooks to prevent Mattsen's takedown attempt.
Almeida breaks the clinch.
Mattsen wants to clinch.
No joy there for Mattsen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mattsen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mattsen wants a takedown but no success here.
Almeida is looking for a takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Almeida ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Almeida no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mattsen wants to control from the top but Almeida keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Almeida has his feet on Mattsen's thighs here. He's pushed Mattsen off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Mattsen screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
