Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Todd Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anderson drives through with a takedown into guard.
Anderson distracts Pakkanen with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pakkanen is on top in guard.
Anderson wants to sweep but no luck.
Pakkanen tries to stand but Anderson is controlling from the bottom.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anderson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pakkanen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Anderson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Anderson throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Anderson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Anderson slips a nice elbow through Pakkanen's hands, connecting with Pakkanen's forehead.
Anderson is looking to advance position but Pakkanen won't allow it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Anderson connects with a nice short shot to Pakkanen's temple.

Anderson drops an elbow to the side of Pakkanen's head.

Pakkanen has hold of Anderson's hands but Anderson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Anderson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Pakkanen rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Anderson's guard! Nice work there by Pakkanen!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anderson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Anderson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pakkanen's face.
Pakkanen is in a horrible position here. Anderson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Anderson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pakkanen looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Anderson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pakkanen sprawls well initially but Anderson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Anderson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Anderson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Pakkanen is not content to let Anderson control the position.
