Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jared Mcconnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Care Taker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Care Taker will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Care Taker!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taker shoots in for a double leg but Mcconnell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Taker shoots in for a takedown but Mcconnell shows good takedown defense.
Mcconnell on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Taker goes for a double leg but Mcconnell avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mcconnell continues to drive forward.
Jared Mcconnell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Care Taker.
Taker goes for a takedown attempt but Mcconnell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Taker misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mcconnell avoids a kick to the body.

Taker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mcconnell avoids it really well and circles away.

Taker closes the distance and pushes Mcconnell back into the cage.
Taker gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mcconnell.
Mcconnell wants a takedown.
Mcconnell tries to pull guard but Taker forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Mcconnell tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Taker just stands there and leans against the cage.
Taker will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Mcconnell up against the cage.

Taker lands with a light punch inside.

Taker tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Taker will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Mcconnell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Taker closes the distance and clinches.
Mcconnell tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Taker smiles and moves away.
Mcconnell tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Taker swivels and escapes.
Mcconnell is breathing heavily.
Mcconnell tries for a takedown but Taker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mcconnell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Taker closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Taker gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Taker content to control rather than advance.
Taker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Taker is working for a submission of some sort.
Taker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mcconnell's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Care Taker dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Taker moves into the clinch.
Mcconnell is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Taker is defending well.
Mcconnell fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Taker pulls guard successfully.

Taker has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mcconnell off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Taker looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Taker has his foot on Mcconnell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mcconnell works his way back into a safe position though.

Taker has Mcconnell pulled in close to control his posture.
Taker is looking to sweep but instead, Mcconnell has passed into half guard.
Taker is looking for a sweep. Mcconnell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Taker is concentrating on defense, preventing Mcconnell from advancing position.
Mcconnell prevents Taker from improving his position.
Mcconnell wants to stand but Taker has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Taker is pressing down on Mcconnell's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Taker is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Taker looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Taker looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Taker is trying to control the position but Mcconnell postures up.

Taker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mcconnell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Taker is adopting a defensive guard.
Mcconnell trying to control the position from guard on top but Taker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mcconnell won't allow Taker to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Care Taker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Taker has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mcconnell uses from the top position.

Mcconnell is fighting to break Taker's control of his arms but Taker is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Some bone on bone action there as Mcconnell checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Mcconnell takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Taker is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Mcconnell is defending well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Taker tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mcconnell smiles and moves away.
Taker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mcconnell fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Taker scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Care Taker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Taker is defended easily by Mcconnell.
Mcconnell shoots for a takedown but Taker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Taker shoots in and drives through. Mcconnell sprawls well.
Jared Mcconnell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Taker enables Mcconnell to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Taker manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Care Taker has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Taker is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Care Taker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Taker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
