Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Sklyar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pertti Kurikka! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sklyar looks for a takedown but Kurikka sprawls well. Sklyar is looking to clinch but Kurikka is avoiding it.
Sklyar is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kurikka sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Sklyar moves into the clinch. Sklyar is trying to break free. Kurikka looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Kurikka tries to circle away but Sklyar has him pinned against the cage. Sklyar has Kurikka pressed against the cage, preventing Kurikka from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Kurikka working hard to break the clinch. Sklyar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kurikka wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Sklyar jumps into guard, dragging Kurikka to the mat.
Sklyar is working an open guard so Kurikka takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Sklyar rushes Kurikka and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kurikka has had enough of the clinch but Sklyar keeps him there for the moment. Sklyar pulls guard. Kurikka wants to stand but Sklyar has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Sklyar wants to stand and escape but Kurikka is having none of it. Sklyar striking off his back but it's not causing Kurikka any problems. Kurikka postures up.
Kurikka wanted to stand there but Sklyar had control of the position. Sklyar throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Kurikka is looking to stand up but Sklyar won't let him. Kurikka decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sklyar, up you get!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kurikka lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sklyar circles away quickly and effectively. Kurikka throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sklyar. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Sklyar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kurikka throws a right hand that Sklyar ducks under and follows up with a left that Sklyar also avoids with ease. Kurikka slaps away a takedown attempt from Sklyar, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sklyar shoots in for a takedown but Kurikka shows good takedown defense. Kurikka misses with a two punch combination.
Sklyar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sklyar works over Kurikka's head and body with a nice combination. Sklyar is breathing heavily. Nice sprawl there from Kurikka as Sklyar shoots in. Kurikka throws a right and a left that Sklyar avoids nicely. Sklyar fails with a takedown attempt. Kurikka looks to land a combination but Sklyar avoids it well. Kurikka will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sklyar loads up on a big right hand but Kurikka slips the punch. Sklyar fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kurikka swinging wildly here.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sklyar. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ivan Sklyar will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Kurikka throws a series of punches but Sklyar moves out of range. Sklyar shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kurikka counters with a crisp one two that drops Sklyar! Kurikka thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Sklyar to his feet! Sklyar is in big trouble! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sklyar tries to clinch but fails miserably and Kurikka moves into the clinch. Kurikka tries to circle away but Sklyar has him pinned against the cage. Kurikka's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. No joy there for Kurikka, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sklyar fails with the takedown. Sklyar shoots in for a double leg but Kurikka sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Sklyar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kurikka drops Sklyar with a beautiful combination! Sklyar stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kurikka is looking for the KO!
It looks like Ivan Sklyar has been cut. Kurikka should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kurikka misses with a series of wild punches.
Sklyar tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Kurikka throws a series of punches but Sklyar moves out of range. Kurikka lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Sklyar gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kurikka counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Kurikka moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Sklyar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kurikka as he avoids it easily. Kurikka drops Sklyar with a beautiful combination! Sklyar stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kurikka is looking for the KO!
Sklyar is rocked! Kurikka misses with a few strikes there.
Oh Sklyar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ivan Sklyar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sklyar does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Sklyar seems to have got his legs back now. Kurikka plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Sklyar swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Sklyar face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Pertti Kurikka! Pertti Kurikka decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
