Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josh Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roland Dawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roland Dawson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Josh Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roland Dawson!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Dirk Anderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Dawson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dawson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dawson goes for a double leg but Cruz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cruz continues to drive forward.
Dawson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Josh Cruz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roland Dawson.
Cruz lands a good knee to the midsection. Dawson won't want to take too many of those.
Dawson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Dawson misses with a punch on the inside.
Dawson tries to pull guard but Cruz forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Dawson jumps guard but Cruz turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Dawson with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Dawson jumps guard but Cruz stands there with Dawson around his waist. Dawson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cruz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Cruz counters with a crisp one two that drops Dawson! Cruz thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Dawson to his feet! Dawson is in big trouble!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Cruz counters with a shoot takedown. Dawson fights it but they end up in guard.

Dawson is rocked!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Cruz is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Dawson is still in real trouble! Can Cruz finish him?

Cruz stands up and waves to Dawson to follow him.
Cruz moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Cruz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Cruz goes for a small jab and connects. Now Cruz goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Dawson stumbles back but Cruz runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Dawson to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Dawson will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

A less than humble Josh Cruz misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
