Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Quentin Webb! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, James Richie! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Webb pulls Richie in to control the position. Webb keeping moving, preventing Richie from controlling successfully. Richie trying to stand up but can't free himself from Webb's guard. Richie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Webb working a defensive guard here.
Richie wants to get up but he can't break Webb's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Webb controls Richie momentarily but Richie frees himself.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Richie shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Webb is defending against the submission attempts here by Richie.
Webb really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Richie content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Webb tries to get to full guard but Richie has control of the leg.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Webb is not content to let Richie control the position. Richie is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Richie wants to control from the top but Webb keeps moving. Richie slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
OK we're going to have a standup here. James Richie hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Richie moves into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Webb has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Richie avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Webb gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Richie is pressing down on Webb's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Richie is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Richie passes easily into side control. Nice work. Webb struggling a bit here. Richie is looking to take a break and control but Webb is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Richie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Webb knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Richie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Webb was covering up waiting for the punch and Richie finishes the takedown easily into guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Webb holds on and takes a little breather. Webb will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Richie wants to get up but he can't break Webb's closed guard. Webb is working hard here to advance position. Richie seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Webb tries to get to full guard but Richie has control of the leg. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. James Richie was stalling too much, according to the referee. Richie forces Webb back against the cage and clinches. Webb tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Richie avoids it. Webb wants to get back to striking at distance but Richie won't allow it.

James Richie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Richie misses with a wild body shot. Richie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Webb looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Richie working away. Richie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Webb keeps working. Richie working away. Webb seems a little lost for a moment, as Richie dominates the positioning. Richie wants to stand but Webb is controlling his arm. Webb tries to buck Richie off but Richie is having none of it. Richie just content to control the position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Richie decides to stand back up.

Webb misses with a head kick.

It looks like Quentin Webb has been cut. Richie fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Webb to the ground. Richie is now in Webb's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Webb looking to hit a scissor sweep but Richie is one step ahead there. Richie slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Richie wants to stand but Webb has his arm trapped. Richie is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Webb's shoulder. That is not cool. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Webb is not content to let Richie control the position. Webb is trying to control Richie's posture but Richie avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Richie wants to stand but Webb is controlling his arm. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. The strikes coming from Richie are missing the target in this wave of attacks. You can see the frustration on Webb's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Richie wants to stand but Webb is controlling his arm. A control attempt from Webb but he's now mounted! Richie putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Richie tries to control but Webb wriggling away. Richie lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The referee warns Webb that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Webb defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Richie. Richie controlling the pace for now. Quentin Webb has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! James Richie is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Richie blocks Webb's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! James Richie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Richie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
