The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diotte lands a left and a right that send Alves crashing to the mat, dazed. Diotte thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Alves is rocked!

It looks like Leandro Alves has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Diotte misses with a series of wild punches.
Oh Alves is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Alves's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Diotte is holding on here and Alves must be using up a lot of energy. Diotte has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Alves gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
