Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joesph Ely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herald Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor has chosen Smoke the Fire!! as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be a great matchup!

The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ely might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ely is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taylor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ely. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ely is pressing down on Taylor's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Taylor trying to control but Ely is working from the bottom.
Ely is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Taylor presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Ely pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ely is looking to take a break and control but Taylor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Taylor pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ely back to the cage. Taylor follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Ely closes this distance looking for a takedown but Taylor circles away.
Ely swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Taylor counters with a nice body kick.
Ely throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Taylor was covering up waiting for the punch and Ely finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ely avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ely won't allow Taylor to sweep him here.

Ely wants to lay and pray for a moment but Taylor keeps working.

Ely is trying to get an arm triangle but Taylor is defending well.

Joesph Ely has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Herald Taylor.

Taylor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ely moves away.
Taylor has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ely is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Ely loads up on a big right hand but Taylor slips the punch.

Ely changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Taylor tries to avoid it but Ely manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Taylor to the ground. Taylor escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Taylor doesn't manage to clinch there - Ely circles away.

Taylor connects with an inside leg kick.
Taylor is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ely scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Taylor tries to kick Ely off but Ely keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Ely stands up out of the half guard.

Ely tries to close the distance and clinch but Taylor swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Taylor throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ely.
Taylor connects with a leg kick. Ely looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Taylor looks to land a combination but Ely avoids it well.
Ely looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Ely tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

That was a close second round but I would say that Joesph Ely will probably get the nod.

Ely is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Taylor is surviving well by controlling Ely's body position as best he can.

Ely wants to finish this one by submission but Taylor is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ely.
Ely goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Taylor is on top in guard.

Taylor is bucking up trying to escape but Ely cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Taylor tries to hold on but Ely pushes him away.
Taylor is squirming around, avoiding Ely's attempts to control the action.
Taylor regains half guard.
Herald Taylor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Taylor wants to improve his position but Ely is controlling well.
Ely is looking for a kimura but Taylor is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ely to get the leverage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ely, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
