Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kale Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Hollis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cruz comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to the Jungle. Hollis has chosen UGK - Pocket Full of Stones as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
42 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kale Cruz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Hollis! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice cross by Cruz. Cruz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cruz lands in his opponent's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Cruz won't allow Hollis to sweep him here. Cruz wants to control from the top but Hollis keeps moving. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cruz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hollis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Cruz with a flurry of punches that miss. Hollis working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cruz.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz throws a big elbow that misses. Hollis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Cruz throws an elbow that misses. Hollis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cruz's guard. Nice move by Hollis! Cruz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hollis is aware though and is defending well. Cruz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cruz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hollis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hollis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cruz wants to sweep but no luck. Cruz looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hollis passes into half guard.
Cruz is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Hollis jumps into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Hollis blocks the strikes from Cruz.
Cruz wants to improve his position but Hollis is controlling well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cruz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hollis is working away from the top position though. Cruz is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hollis is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A head kick misses from Hollis. Hollis misses with a low kick.
Hollis swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cruz. Cruz on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cruz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cruz takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Cruz looks for a takedown but Hollis sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kale Cruz dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Cruz lands a jab-cross combination. Hollis lands with a thumping leg kick.
Cruz takes one on the button.
It looks like Kale Cruz has been cut. Hollis tries a head kick but it misses.
Hollis needs to keep his hands up - Cruz had a free shot at his head there. Hollis moves out of range as Cruz strikes. Cruz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hollis. Cruz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hollis.
Hollis has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Hollis just misses with a punch to the body.
Cruz lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cruz avoids a kick to the body.
Joe Hollis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hollis misses with a low kick as Cruz jumps back. Hollis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cruz circles away quickly and effectively. Hollis throws a push kick but Cruz slaps the foot to one side. Cruz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hollis turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Hollis throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hollis looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Cruz checks the leg kick. Hollis lands a nice looking body kick. Hollis throws a head kick but Cruz moves out of range.
Cruz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Cruz jabs Hollis to the body, keeping him at a distance. Cruz shoots for a double leg takedown but Hollis sprawls well. He's pushed Cruz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Hollis lets loose with a powerful body kick. Cruz will feel that in the morning. Cruz takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Cruz misses the jab. Hollis throws a right hand that Cruz ducks under and follows up with a left that Cruz also avoids with ease. Cruz shoots in but no luck this time. Hollis thows a body shot but no joy. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cruz goes for a double leg but Hollis avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hollis continues to drive forward. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kale Cruz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hollis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cruz steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Hollis. That one must have hurt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hollis takes a swing at Cruz's ribcage but misses. Cruz defending well as Hollis loads up on a big left hand. Hollis scores with a head kick.
Joe Hollis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hollis lands a head kick. Cruz smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Cruz dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Cruz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hollis circles away. Cruz scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hollis in his tracks. Hollis throws a head kick that Cruz semi-blocks.
Cruz takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Cruz is rocked! Joe Hollis seems to be getting the better of the standup. A punch lands to the side of Cruz 's head but he takes it in his stride. Oh Cruz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hollis moves away from the strike by Cruz. Cruz throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Hollis! Cruz is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Hollis!
