Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rex Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Alcon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rex Lynch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rick Alcon!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alcon fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lynch.
Alcon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lynch.
Lynch showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Alcon.
Alcon misses with a double jab.
Alcon comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Alcon throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A nice leg kick lands there from Alcon.
Rex Lynch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lynch instigates a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alcon is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Alcon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Lynch drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lynch has a closed guard, preventing Alcon from standing up.
Lynch controlling the position.
Lynch wants to stand and escape but Alcon is having none of it.
Alcon wants to stand and escape but instead Lynch has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Lynch works over Alcon with some ground and pound from guard.
Lynch controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Alcon wants to get back to his feet but Lynch is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Alcon wants to stand but Lynch is controlling the position.
Lynch slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Rex Lynch just wasn't active enough.
Lynch on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Alcon gets caught napping as Lynch dives in and scores a takedown. Alcon manages to retain guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alcon wants to stand but Lynch is controlling the position.
Lynch really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lynch stays in close to Alcon's body and controls the position.
Lynch stops Alcon from standing up.
Lynch is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Lynch seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Alcon for as long as he can get away with.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rex Lynch.
No luck for Lynch with that takedown attempt.
Alcon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lynch moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alcon cracks Lynch with a right hand to the side of the head.
Lynch shoots for a takedown but Alcon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rex Lynch. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice sprawl there from Alcon as Lynch shoots in.
Alcon cracks the inside of Lynch's front leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lynch tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Lynch shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lynch showed some decent athleticism there.
Alcon tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Lynch manages to move to mount!

Alcon wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Alcon is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rex Lynch dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jab, jab by Alcon - just one landing.
A combination from Alcon does no damage.
Alcon moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Lynch goes for a double leg but Alcon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Alcon continues to drive forward.

Lynch pulls Alcon into guard.
Alcon is looking to stand up but Lynch won't let him.
Lynch looking for a sweep. Not yet Lynch, not yet.

Alcon wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Lynch's closed guard. He's half up but Lynch has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Lynch pivots and extends the arm, Alcon falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Lynch! Well done that man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rex Lynch!
