Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vinnie Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vinnie Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black fails with the takedown.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Black.
Taylor leaves Black with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vinnie Black. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Black shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Taylor as he avoids it easily.
Taylor shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Taylor gets a clinch.

Black pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Black stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Black wants it to stay on the feet.

Black changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Taylor looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Taylor can do anything to dispel that myth.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Black decides to stand back up.

Taylor rushes Black and presses him up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Taylor jumps guard but Black stands there with Taylor around his waist. Taylor gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Taylor breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Black looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Black decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Black gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Black breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Black shoots in looking for a takedown but Taylor manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Black's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Black closes the distance and clinches.
Black prevents the takedown attempt.
Black taking a breather.

Black escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Black bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Taylor is trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Taylor struggling a bit here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Black decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Taylor shoots for a takedown but Black saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A combination from Taylor does no damage.
Black thows a body kick. Taylor tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Black drives through with a takedown into guard.
Black throws a big right hand that misses.
Taylor utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Black stands up and waves to Taylor to follow him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Black shoots in for a double leg but Taylor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Black fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Taylor avoids it really well and circles away.

Black looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Taylor!

Black stands up and beckons Taylor to his feet.
Taylor fails to land the takedown.
Black shoots in but Taylor avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Black closes the distance and lands a one-two.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Black shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Black was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Taylor can't do much from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Black has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Black lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


Taylor is rocked!
Vinnie Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Black gets the takedown into side control.
Taylor is still in real trouble! Can Black finish him?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Black working the ground and pound.
Black scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Taylor is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Black can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vinnie Black!
A relieved looking Vinnie Black thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
