Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Diego Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Shadow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Shadow's choice of entrance music: Johnny B. Goode. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johny Shadow! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz tries to bum rush Shadow with a series of wild strikes but Shadow uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Diaz takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A left lands for Shadow. Diaz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Shadow counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shadow tries for a kimura but Diaz is defending well. Diaz tries to buck Shadow off but Shadow is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diaz is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Shadow off and has taken his back! Diaz biding his time, looking for the opening.

Shadow has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shadow has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Diaz. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shadow rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Diaz is thwarting Shadow's attempts to control the position. Shadow keeping hold of Diaz's head, controlling as best he can. Shadow wants to improve his position but Diaz is controlling well.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Johny Shadow was stalling too much, according to the referee. Nice defenses there by Diaz. Diaz attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Diaz tries to clinch up and Shadow counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shadow defends it nicely. Shadow tries to bum rush Diaz with a series of wild strikes but Diaz uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Diaz fails with the takedown letting Shadow counter with a right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Diaz tries for a takedown but Shadow circles away easily and Shadow counters with a shoot takedown. Diaz fights it but they end up in guard. Diaz is looking for a triangle but Shadow pushes his legs off easily.
Shadow drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Diaz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shadow has Diaz in his guard. Diaz is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Titan Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shadow is pulling down on Diaz's head to control his posture. Shadow keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Shadow holds on and takes a little breather. Shadow keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shadow pulls Diaz in close to his closed guard and prevents Diaz from doing any damage or advancing position. Diaz tries to free his leg and advance position but Shadow is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shadow closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Diaz to the mat! Diaz manages to get full guard. Shadow working some strikes from top position. Diaz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Shadow is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Diaz. Oh Diaz is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Shadow cracks Diaz with a big elbow. Shadow in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Diaz looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Shadow turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johny Shadow! Johny Shadow decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. Diego Diaz was interviewed post fight and said 'Eu amo este esporte e eu nunca vou parar até que eu estou morto, então eu estarei de volta novamente. (I love this sport & I will never stop until I'm dead so I will be back again)'.
