The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spong tries to close the distance and clinch but Frochzer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Frochzer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Spong throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kelvin Spong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spong uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Frochzer.
Spong lands a jab to the head.
Spong scores with a body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Frochzer misses the target.

Spong drives through with a takedown into Frochzer's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Frochzer has his foot on Spong's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Spong works his way back into a safe position though.

Frochzer controls Spong momentarily but Spong frees himself.

Spong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Frochzer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Spong working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Frochzer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Spong controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Spong lands a nice hook to Frochzer's body. Frochzer takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Spong throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Frochzer drops his hands momentarily and Spong takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Frochzer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Frochzer goes for a double leg but Spong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Spong continues to drive forward.

Frochzer tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Spong smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jazman Frochzer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Spong scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Spong lands the left hand.
Frochzer drops his hands momentarily and Spong takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Spong cracks Frochzer with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Spong wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Oh Frochzer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Spong lands a big right hand that drops Frochzer! The killer instinct kicks in and Spong finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Spong!
