Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon DeLaurier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leon DeLaurier will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Reed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Leon DeLaurier! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DeLaurier moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. DeLaurier swings for the body but Reed moves out of range.
Reed definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. DeLaurier tries to clinch but Reed moves away and Reed counters with a stiff right hand. DeLaurier jabbing away but nothing is landing. Reed shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. DeLaurier throws a jab but it's blocked by Reed. The fight moves into the clinch position. DeLaurier goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Reed breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
DeLaurier forces Reed back against the cage and clinches. DeLaurier on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reed gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from DeLaurier.

DeLaurier is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Reed is defending well. Sam Reed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leon DeLaurier. DeLaurier misses with a body punch.
DeLaurier has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Reed after a bit of a struggle. DeLaurier stalling.
DeLaurier lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. DeLaurier jumps guard but Reed stands there with DeLaurier around his waist. DeLaurier gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Reed manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. DeLaurier's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Reed with a lazy takedown attempt and DeLaurier counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. DeLaurier takes the fight into the clinch. DeLaurier is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Reed pulls him back up using the underhooks. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reed stops a takedown attempt from DeLaurier.

DeLaurier is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Reed can't fight it off and eventually DeLaurier manages to take the fight to the floor. Reed looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. DeLaurier trying to control but Reed is working from the bottom. DeLaurier has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Reed is proving hard to escape from. Reed is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Reed really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. DeLaurier sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Leon DeLaurier has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. DeLaurier forces Reed back against the cage and clinches. DeLaurier wants a takedown but no success here.
DeLaurier's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Reed gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. DeLaurier content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

DeLaurier looks to score with a jab to the body but Reed is just out of range. DeLaurier tries to clinch but Reed is having none of it. DeLaurier moves in looking to clinch but Reed pushes him off. DeLaurier throws a right hand that Reed ducks under and follows up with a left that Reed also avoids with ease. DeLaurier throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Reed checks a leg kick. DeLaurier misses with a two punch combination.
DeLaurier is looking to land body kicks. DeLaurier gets in close and instigates a clinch.

DeLaurier throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Reed is not content to let DeLaurier control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reed is trying to get back to full guard. DeLaurier working over Reed with some ground and pound. Reed looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Reed wants to control but DeLaurier passes into side.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw DeLaurier working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. DeLaurier is looking to take a break and control but Reed is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reed regains half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. DeLaurier sitting in guard here, content to control. DeLaurier in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. DeLaurier working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Reed's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. DeLaurier preventing the sweep. DeLaurier slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. DeLaurier postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. DeLaurier passes Reed's right leg, so he's now in half guard. DeLaurier wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reed keeps working. Reed keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. DeLaurier trying to pass the guard but Reed defending well. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with DeLaurier in particular looking to stall. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leon DeLaurier showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Reed's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
DeLaurier shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reed as he jumps to the side. DeLaurier tries to clinch but Reed moves out of range. Reed was covering up waiting for the punch and DeLaurier finishes the takedown easily into guard. DeLaurier with a flurry of punches that miss. Reed looking for a sweep. Not yet Reed, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. DeLaurier missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. DeLaurier throws a big right hand that misses. Both fighters are breathing heavily. DeLaurier pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Reed is keeping the position for now. DeLaurier seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Reed will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. DeLaurier trying to control the position from guard on top but Reed is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts DeLaurier, as that shot connected.
Leon DeLaurier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. DeLaurier fails with the takedown. DeLaurier tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reed swivels and escapes. Sam Reed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leon DeLaurier.
That's three minutes gone in the round. DeLaurier throws a head kick that misses. Leon DeLaurier is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Nice sprawl there from Reed as DeLaurier shoots in. DeLaurier fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Reed to the ground. DeLaurier is now in Reed's guard. Reed is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Reed is looking to sweep but instead, DeLaurier has passed into half guard.
DeLaurier slips a nice elbow through Reed's hands, connecting with Reed's forehead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. DeLaurier wants to control but Reed is keeping him busy. Reed is looking to control DeLaurier's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Reed avoid being mounted? Still in half guard, DeLaurier seems content to control. DeLaurier's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Leon DeLaurier was stalling too much, according to the referee. DeLaurier lands a jab to Reed's midsection.
And that's the end of the fight! Leon DeLaurier comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well DeLaurier has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
