Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amaral throws a head kick but Nickson moves out of range.
Amaral checks the leg kick nicely there.

A looping hook to the body misses from Amaral. Nickson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nickson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Amaral.
Nickson misses with a low kick.
Nickson loads up on a big right hand but Amaral slips the punch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nickson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Nickson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
It looks like Rafael Amaral has been cut.
Amaral throws the left hand but Nickson avoids the punch easily.
Amaral has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Murder Inc Fight Team in the buildup to the fight.

Nickson moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Amaral stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Nickson.

Nickson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Johan Nickson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Amaral on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Amaral is rocked!
Nickson finds Amaral's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Amaral flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Nickson lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Amaral will be OK.
