Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Toby Jay Wadenah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Wexler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wadenah's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Enter Sandman. Wexler comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Go To Sleep - Eminem kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

22 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shawn Wexler! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Russell Pearce and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wadenah darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Wadenah looks to land a combination. Wexler sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Wadenah scores with a jab to the head.

Wadenah fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Wadenah lands with a good body shot. Wadenah ducks under a wild hook from Wexler. Wexler ducks under a wild hook from Wadenah. Wadenah misses with an uppercut. Wexler saw that one coming. Wadenah scores with a body shot.
Wadenah lands a leg kick that knocks Wexler off balance momentarily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wadenah fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Wexler has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Wexler misses with a double jab.
Wadenah ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wexler moves away. Wadenah lands a high kick!
A looping hook to the body misses from Wadenah. Wexler does a little dance to reset his feet. Wexler ducks under a wild hook from Wadenah. Wadenah throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Wexler misses with a leg kick and Wadenah counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Wexler catches Wadenah with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Wadenah tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wexler was well out of range. Poor timing from Wadenah. Wexler lands an overhand right. Wadenah throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wexler sees it coming and avoids it easily. Wexler throws a lazy right hand but Wadenah sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Wadenah swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Wexler misses with a body shot.

A big left from Wadenah misses. Wexler throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wadenah on the side of the head. Wexler lands a nice looking body shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wadenah takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Wadenah wants to slow Wexler down by chopping away at his legs. Wadenah throws a series of punches but Wexler avoids them all with ease.

Wexler throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wadenah takes a swing at Wexler's ribcage but misses. Nice defenses there by Wexler. Wadenah looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Wadenah wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Wadenah misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Wexler.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Wexler tries to move to mount but Wadenah blocks the move with his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wexler controlling the position. Wadenah is looking to regain half guard here but Wexler keeps moving and retains side control. Wadenah is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Wexler wants to control but Wadenah is keeping him busy. Wadenah wants to control but Wexler postures up. Wexler creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Wadenah sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Wexler is looking to take a break and control but Wadenah is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wexler tries to score with some ground and pound. Wadenah controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Wexler working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Wexler tries to advance to mount but Wadenah denies him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wexler trying to control the action but Wadenah is working from the bottom. Wadenah wants to control but Wexler postures up. Wadenah is trying to get back to half guard. Wadenah is trying to control Wexler's posture but Wexler avoids it. Wexler creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Wadenah dodges the ground and pound from Wexler. Wexler working away. Wadenah prevents Wexler from moving into mount. Wadenah is looking for a sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Toby Jay Wadenah dominated that round. That's time! Wadenah's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Wexler goes for a double leg but Wadenah avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wadenah continues to drive forward. Wexler misses with a body punch.
Wadenah makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Wexler jumps guard and drags Wadenah to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Wadenah is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Wadenah stopping the sweep attempt from Wexler. Wexler lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Wexler throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wadenah works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Wexler trying to control but Wadenah is working from the bottom. Shawn Wexler has got the better of the ground game so far. Wexler engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Wadenah wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wadenah is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wexler tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Wexler feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Wexler trying to control the position from guard on top but Wadenah is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wadenah not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Wexler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wadenah swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wexler is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wadenah is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Wadenah preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Wadenah looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wexler is one step ahead there. Wadenah controls Wexler momentarily but Wexler frees himself.

Toby Jay Wadenah has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Nice uppercut there from Wexler. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wadenah scores with a body shot.
