Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pete Blamm! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, R HC! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! HC has taken the fight to the clinch.
Blamm looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! HC tightens his grip and picks Blamm up, before dumping him to the ground. Blamm manages to land in guard. HC looking to pass the guard. HC seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Blamm trying to keep a closed guard but HC is proving a slippery customer.
HC is stalling in the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. HC throws a strike but Blamm rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if HC can do anything to dispel that myth. Blamm preventing the sweep. HC doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. HC has control of Blamm's left arm, preventing Blamm from doing any damage. HC looking for a sweep. Not yet HC, not yet. HC keeping moving, preventing Blamm from controlling successfully. Blamm won't allow HC to sweep him here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. HC shoots in and bounces Blamm off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Blamm being controlled here, momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. HC sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Blamm's guard. HC tries to pass the half guard into mount. Blamm knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. HC slows the pace down in half guard. HC wants to pass the guard but Blamm is defending well. Blamm is in trouble now - HC has advanced to mount! HC working away from the top, dropping strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
R HC dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Blamm gets caught flat footed, as HC shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. HC chips away with some ground and pound. HC working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Blamm's head. HC slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. HC pushes down on Blamm's leg and manages to get into half guard. HC content to control rather than advance. HC seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. HC content to control rather than advance. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. HC lands a nice short elbow. HC should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. HC looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Blamm with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. HC lands with a punch from half guard. HC is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. HC works his way into full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. HC tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. HC with shots to the head and body - Blamm looks very uncomfortable down there. Blamm is bucking up trying to escape but HC cracks him with another couple of good strikes. HC looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Blamm is working to get back to half guard.
HC looking to finish Blamm with some ground and pound. This is bad for Blamm! HC controlling from mount. Blamm tries to hold on but HC pushes him away. HC landing strikes from the mount. HC lands with some strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. HC working Blamm over with strikes here. HC dominating with strikes here. HC controlling the position easily from mount. HC with the ground and pound from mount. HC controlling the position easily from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
R HC showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Blamm's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
HC scores with a takedown into Blamm's guard. HC is stalling in the full guard. HC looking to pass the guard. Blamm working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. HC doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. HC manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Both fighters are breathing heavily. HC looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells HC's corner. There ya go! There ya go! HC is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. HC must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. HC passes easily into side control. Nice work. Blamm tries to improve position but can't. HC scoring with punches from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Despite being in the dominant position, R HC just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. HC scores with a takedown into Blamm's guard. Blamm looking for a sweep. Not yet Blamm, not yet. HC is pushing down on Blamm's leg trying to pass to half guard. Blamm is fighting to maintain full guard but HC has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's three minutes gone in the round. HC trying to control the pace. HC is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
HC lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. HC lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. HC working over Blamm with some ground and pound. Blamm looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. HC seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. HC wants to free his trapped foot but Blamm is holding on for dear life with his legs. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with HC in particular looking to stall. Pete Blamm has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Blamm is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but HC pulls his head out easily.
And that's the end of the fight! R HC comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well HC has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
