The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perini takes a swing at Simmons's ribcage but misses.

Perini pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Simmons counters with a head kick. That will keep Perini thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Simmons counters with a right hand to the body.
Simmons uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Perini.
Simmons scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Perini wants to get back to his feet but Simmons drags him back down.
Perini looks winded!

Perini dodges the ground and pound from Simmons.
Perini tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Perini is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Simmons really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Perini is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Simmons like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Simmons from another fist facial!
