Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Johnson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gomez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Johnson has gone for a leg lock! Gomez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Johnson's guard.
Gomez postures up and lands a big shot to Johnson's brow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Johnson is on top in guard.

My spies in MagicalFatFarm inform me that Gomez has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

In his post fight interview, Alfredo Gomez started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
