Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
35 - 34 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Melvin Manhoef!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Milo Coors!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manhoef throws a leg kick but Coors checks it.
Melvin Manhoef seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Manhoef throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Coors.
A punch combination from Manhoef misses.
Coors takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Coors scores with a jab to the jaw.
Coors fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Manhoef sprawls well initially but Coors persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Coors wants to pass the guard but Manhoef is defending well.
Coors stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Milo Coors has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Manhoef swings for the body but Coors moves out of range.
Manhoef on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Coors slips a jab and a cross from Manhoef.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Coors.
Manhoef throws a front kick aimed at Coors's knee but Coors avoids it well.
Coors closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Manhoef is trying to get back to his feet.
Coors trying to control the position but Manhoef is working away.
Coors thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Coors goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Manhoef has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Coors but great work by Manhoef.
Coors wants to control but Manhoef postures up.
Coors gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Manhoef knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Coors on the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Coors is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Manhoef's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Manhoef's back!
Coors looking to break Manhoef's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Manhoef remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Coors will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Manhoef trying to get back to his feet but Coors is in full control for now.
Well, with Coors on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Manhoef is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Coors has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Manhoef is defending well but eventually Coors manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Manhoef has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
