The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perry circles away from the clinch attempt
and Perry decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Maddox's guard.
Perry postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Perry drops back looking for a leg! Maddox is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Maddox manages to kick Perry off! Perry jumps back into Maddox's guard.

Perry stands up from Maddox's guard - Perry perhaps looking for a knockout.
Maddox tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Perry counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and Perry counters with a series of strikes. Maddox will be more careful next time no doubt.
Perry bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
