Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John McNamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Lynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Russell Lynn struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynn displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McNamara throws out the jab.
Lynn staying out of range there.
McNamara lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lynn at a distance.
Lynn missing with a left hand there. McNamara was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Lynn misses with a takedown attempt
and Lynn takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Lynn slips a straight right by McNamara.
Lynn throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lynn misses the jab.
Russell Lynn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A clash of legs there as McNamara blocks the low kick.
McNamara is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lynn.
McNamara scores with a nice head shot.
McNamara misses with a looping right.
Lynn lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as McNamara backs up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lynn just misses with a punch to the body.
McNamara thows a left - swing and a miss!
McNamara throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lynn.
McNamara misses the jab.
McNamara displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lynn.
McNamara misses with a hook. Lynn ducked under it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McNamara works the jab nicely.
McNamara's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lynn under the eye.
McNamara is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Lynn is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McNamara.

Lynn knocks McNamara to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?


McNamara is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lynn misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Oh McNamara is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
McNamara tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lynn wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
A big shot lands for Lynn! That's hurt McNamara! Will he recover? Lynn fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Russell Lynn!
Our winner, Russell Lynn, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
