Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tito Santana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mason Kane will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tito Santana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mason Kane! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kane stuffs the takedown. Santana looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kane is fending him off so far but Santana persists. Nope, Kane circles away and we're back to standing. Kane lands a jab to the head.
Kane swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Santana. Santana shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Santana was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Santana is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kane is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Santana tries for a kimura but Kane is defending well. Kane has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Santana is trying to get an arm triangle but Kane is defending well.

Santana tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Santana tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Kane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santana. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Oh, that's unlucky for Santana but great work by Kane. Santana wants to control but Kane postures up. Santana is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kane off and has taken his back! Kane is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Santana off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Santana is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Kane is defending well though. Santana let's go of the attempt for now. Kane defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

Santana escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kane gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Santana trying to control the position.

Santana misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A big right from Kane misses. Nice takedown defense from Kane. No joy for Santana on that attempt. Kane looks to land a combination. Santana sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Santana uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kane. Santana dives in and grabs Kane's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kane pushes down on Santana's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tito Santana. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice sprawl there from Kane as Santana shoots in.

Kane missing with a left hand there. Santana was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Santana shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kane as he jumps to the side. Kane is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Santana dives in and grabs Kane's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kane pushes down on Santana's head and hops out. Kane moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Santana closes the distance and clinches up with Kane, looking for a takedown. Santana pushes Kane against the cage but Kane circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A jab from Kane misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Kane. No joy for Santana on that attempt. Santana moves out of range of the strikes. Santana fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kane avoids it really well and circles away. A jab lands there for Kane. Santana goes for a double leg but Kane avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kane continues to drive forward. Kane has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Santana keeps control of Kane as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Kane looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Kane tries to break the clinch but Santana is controlling the position.

I was talking to Santana's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Kane wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Santana has Kane pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kane manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Santana turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Santana tries for a kimura but Kane is defending well. Santana postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Santana is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kane knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kane can do anything to dispel that myth. Kane is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Santana tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kane sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Santana somewhat. Santana misses with a takedown attempt. That's two minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Kane misses the target. Kane might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Santana with a lazy takedown attempt and Kane counters with a nice uppercut. Kane throws a shot from downtown. Santana moves away and avoids it. Kane moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Kane connects with a nice looking jab.
Santana shoots in for a takedown but Kane shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kane getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Mason Kane is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kane lands the left hand.

Kane darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Kane connects with a good right hand that stumbles Santana. Santana circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Kane misses with a looping right. Kane defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Santana. Santana fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kane avoids it really well and circles away. Kane misses with an uppercut.

Santana will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Santana shoots for a takedown but Kane saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Santana misses with a takedown attempt - Kane sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A big right from Kane misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Santana moves forwards but Kane connects with a nice, crisp jab. Mason Kane has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kane connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
And that's the end of the fight! Mason Kane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Santana has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
