Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Louis Guy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Walter Cooper!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cooper shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Guy is trying to defend but Cooper finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Still in half guard, Cooper seems content to control.
Guy tries to get to full guard but Cooper has control of the leg.

Cooper is pressing down on Guy's thigh, looking to free his foot. Guy is holding on for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Walter Cooper was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Cooper closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Guy's guard.

Guy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cooper on the ground.

Cooper tries to advance position but instead Guy slips a leg back in to half guard.
Cooper slows the pace down in half guard.

Cooper decides to return to a standing position.
No joy there for Cooper, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Cooper changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Guy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Cooper is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Guy's shoulder. That is not cool.

Cooper stands up.

Cooper closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cooper lands in his opponent's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cooper in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Cooper postures up in Guy's guard and throws a big left but Guy blocks it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cooper controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Walter Cooper was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Cooper changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Guy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Cooper moves into range and clinches up with Guy.
Guy fails to pull guard.

Cooper has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Guy uses from the top position.

Cooper looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Guy wants to control from the top but Cooper keeps moving.
Cooper controls Guy momentarily but Guy frees himself.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Cooper dives in and scores a takedown into Guy's guard.

Guy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Cooper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cooper decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Guy, up you get!

Cooper forces Guy back against the cage and clinches.
Guy goes for a takedown attempt but Cooper pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Cooper drives through and clinches with Guy against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cooper works on Guy's body with a couple of short punches.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cooper turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cooper has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Guy!
Guy wants to hold on but Cooper pushes him away.
Guy wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Cooper.

Cooper with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Guy is trying to escape the mount.
Cooper takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Guy wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Cooper.

Cooper throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Cooper tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Walter Cooper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Guy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Oooooh!!! Cooper has knocked Guy down with a huge combo! Cooper steps away and waves a wobbly Guy back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Guy is rocked!


It looks like Louis Guy has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cooper Throws a clean left jab. Cooper Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Guy's chin! Guy crumbles to the ground and Cooper follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Cooper!
