Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Errol Kirby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabio Susin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Errol Kirby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fabio Susin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ron Honeybunn and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Susin tries to close the distance and clinch but Kirby swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Susin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Susin showed some decent athleticism there.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kirby flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Kirby wants to get back to full guard.
Kirby tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Susin is trying to control the action in half guard but Kirby is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kirby moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kirby throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Kirby manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Susin is desperately trying to improve his position but Kirby has a good base and remains in mount.

Kirby can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Susin is looking to escape.

Susin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Kirby lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Susin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Susin is squirming around, avoiding Kirby's attempts to control the action.

Kirby looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Susin is working to get back to half guard.

Susin is wriggling around trying to escape.

Kirby is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Susin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Kirby avoids the attempt from Susin to control.
Susin sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Susin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kirby manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kirby bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Susin's guard.
Susin has control of Kirby's left arm, preventing Kirby from doing any damage.
Kirby lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Kirby wants to stand but Susin is controlling his posture from full guard.
Kirby will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Susin is looking for a triangle but Kirby pushes his legs off easily.
Susin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kirby in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Susin fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Susin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kirby is trying to defend but Susin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Susin is breathing heavily.
Kirby is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kirby gets full guard.
Susin tries to stand but Kirby is controlling from the bottom.
Kirby looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kirby manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Susin manages to get himself to full guard.

Kirby wants to control but Susin is keeping him busy.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Errol Kirby will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Kirby gets caught flat footed, as Susin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kirby is striking but Susin is not phased and passes to half guard.
Kirby gets full guard.
Kirby wants to sweep but no luck.
Susin sitting in guard here, content to control.

Susin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kirby, up you get!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kirby goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Kirby pulls guard effortlessly.
Susin trying to control the position from guard on top but Kirby is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Susin throws a big elbow that misses.
Susin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kirby swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kirby is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Susin is trying to stand.
Susin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kirby lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kirby working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Susin wants to control but Kirby is keeping busy.
Kirby seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Kirby is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Kirby wants to stand but Susin has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Kirby looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Susin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Susin is trying to control but can't.
Susin is concentrating on defense, preventing Kirby from advancing position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Fabio Susin wasn't active enough on the ground.

Susin gets a takedown into half guard.
Fabio Susin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Errol Kirby is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Errol Kirby.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kirby, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
