Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daron Buxton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buxton's entrance music is Rammstein - Ich Will. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daron Buxton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don King!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Buxton misses with a double jab
and King counters with a straight right hand.
Buxton swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and King counters with a nice body shot.
King lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

King gets caught flat footed, as Buxton shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
King trying to keep a closed guard but Buxton is proving a slippery customer.
King keeping moving, preventing Buxton from controlling successfully.
Buxton postures up.
Buxton wants to pass the guard but King is keeping the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Don King hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
King lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Buxton circles away quickly and effectively.

King looks to land a left hand but Buxton moved out of range nicely.
Buxton ducks right into an uppercut from King.
King will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
King takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Buxton shoots in for a double leg but King sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Buxton misses with a series of wild punches.
King lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Buxton backs up against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Buxton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A combination from King does no damage.
Buxton has a takedown stuffed.

Buxton tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
King jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Buxton throws an overhand right that lands on King's shoulder, as King tries to avoid the shot.
Buxton looks to score with a jab to the body but King is just out of range.

and Buxton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Buxton ducks down and throws a hook to the body but King moves away.
Nice uppercut lands for King. That snapped Buxton's head back.
King swats away the attempt to clinch by Buxton.

Donk. King catches Buxton right on the button with a cross.

Buxton closes the distance and clinches.
King wants to get back to striking at distance but Buxton won't allow it.
King lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Buxton backwards.
King scores with a nice hook to the head.
A head punch on the inside from King fails to land.
Buxton misses with a punch on the inside.
Buxton drops down looking for an ankle pick but King pulls his leg out and moves away.
Buxton lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Buxton shoots in and gets a takedown into King's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Buxton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
King wants to stand but Buxton is controlling the position.

King working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Buxton.
Buxton tries to free his leg and advance position but King is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Buxton trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
King is trying to control the position but Buxton postures up.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Buxton darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Buxton tries to pass the half guard into mount. King knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Buxton is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, King has managed to free his arm - good work.
Buxton wants to take a breather but King is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don King dominated that round.

Nice sprawl there from King as Buxton shoots in.

Buxton closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. King quickly recovers to half guard.
King is refusing to be controlled, as Buxton sits in half guard.

King is defending against the submission attempts here by Buxton.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Buxton.

Buxton is sneakily working for an arm triangle but King sees it coming and defends easily.

King is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Buxton pulls his head out easily.
King is refusing to be controlled, as Buxton sits in half guard.

King tries to roll over but Buxton keeps him under control.

Buxton missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Buxton is thwarting King's attempts to control the position.
King is not content to let Buxton control the position.
King wants to improve his position but Buxton is controlling well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
King just misses with a punch to the body.
King looks to throw the jab but Buxton is out of range.
Daron Buxton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

King drops Buxton with a beautiful combination! Buxton stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - King is looking for the KO!

King is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Buxton's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Buxton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but King does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Don King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Buxton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts King as he jumps to the side.
King ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
King swings and misses with a hook to the body.
King looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
King connects with a body shot.
Buxton throws a nice looking combination but King bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The fighters circling - Buxton throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Buxton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with King but King pushes him off and we're back to square one.
King throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Buxton on the side of the head.

King fails to land with a series of punches.

Buxton closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. King did well to prevent Buxton getting side control.

Buxton is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! King is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Daron Buxton!
