0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kenneth Keats! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Keats fails to land with a series of punches.
Keats misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Claus.
Keats fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Keats avoids the head kick by Claus.
Keats drives through with a takedown into Claus's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Keats forces his way into half guard. Keats passes to side control. Keats working the ground and pound. Claus is positioning himself to get back to half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Claus taking a bit of punishment here - Keats scoring with strikes. Keats is working Claus over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Claus tries to buck Keats off but Keats is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Keats lands an elbow. Keats lands a decent elbow from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Keats has hold of Claus's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Claus seems comfortable defending it but Keats has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Claus is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Claus is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Keats couldn't care less - he's delighted!
