The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grandissimo dives in and scores a takedown into Rhodes's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Grandissimo's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grandissimo passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Grandissimo passes to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grandissimo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Grandissimo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Grandissimo tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Rhodes is trying to escape the position but Grandissimo is controlling the position.
It looks like Grandissimo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Grandissimo in side control lands a decent elbow.
Rhodes tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Grandissimo wants to stand but Rhodes has his arm trapped.
Grandissimo controlling from side mount.
Grandissimo is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Rhodes is trying to escape and Grandissimo transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Rhodes is forced to tap! Nice work there by Grandissimo! Very nice indeed!
