The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bruyne fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Bennet Benoit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Bruyne counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Bennet Benoit has been cut.
Benoit's coach down at Kill Zone was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Benoit's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Benoit fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Bruyne fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Benoit, pushing him back against the cage.

and Bruyne counters with a huge left! Benoit is in big trouble! He's backing up but Bruyne isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Benoit from any more damage. A dominating finish by Bruyne!
