PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tom Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Head tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Bishop looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bishop in particular looking to stall.
Head pushes Bishop off looking to stand but Bishop dives back in and keeps control.

Bishop stands up and beckons Head to join him on the feet.
Head tries to clinch there but Bishop circles away.

Head tries to keep at a distance but Bishop has taken the fight into the clinch.
Head tries to pull guard but Bishop won't allow it.
Head wants to break free but Bishop has control.
Head has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bishop is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Bishop connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Head some visible discomfort.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Head is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Head tries to close the distance and clinch but Bishop swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

No luck for Bishop with that takedown attempt.
Bishop fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Head throws a head kick that misses
and Bishop makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Tom Head has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mr Bishop.

Well Bishop has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
