Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chauncey Riddle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ron Candy! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Candy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Riddle is trying to defend but Candy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Candy wants to work for an arm triangle but Riddle is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Riddle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Candy on the ground. Candy is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Riddle sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Riddle looking for submissions off his back. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Candy working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Candy seems to be looking for submissions.

Candy eventually gives up the hold. Candy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Riddle defends it well. Riddle moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Riddle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Riddle is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Candy trying to control the position from guard on top but Riddle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Candy is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Candy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Riddle has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Candy has managed to get both his arms back between Riddle's legs - danger averted. Riddle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Riddle enables Candy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Riddle manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Riddle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Candy defends it easily. Riddle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Candy stands up from Riddle's guard - Candy perhaps looking for a knockout. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Candy drives through and clinches with Riddle against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riddle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Riddle blocks a leg kick. Riddle takes the fight into the clinch. Riddle is working Candy over against the cage. Riddle breaks the clinch.
Riddle goes for a double leg but Candy avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Candy continues to drive forward. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Riddle. Candy tries to break free but Riddle pushes him back against the cage. Riddle tries to pull guard but Candy forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Riddle's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Candy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Riddle is trying to defend but Candy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Candy is working for a kimura but Riddle is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Riddle is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Candy pulls his head out easily. Candy passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Riddle! The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Candy. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Candy has hold of Riddle's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Riddle manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Riddle is looking to improve his position but Candy isn't that keen on the idea. Candy trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Candy is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Riddle can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Ron Candy has got the better of the ground game so far. Candy moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Riddle has worked his arm free - good work by Riddle!
Riddle gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Riddle has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Candy. Oh but Riddle has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Candy goes limp - he's gone! Riddle jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
