PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mac McNulty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pate Perhana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McNulty's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Stranglehold - Ted Nugent. Pate Perhana will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pate Perhana!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McNulty clinches up with Perhana and pushes him back against the cage.
McNulty keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Perhana's efforts to push away.
Perhana is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
McNulty blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Perhana is trying to maintain a safe position but McNulty gets an underhook and turns Perhana into the cage.
McNulty drops down looking for an ankle pick but Perhana pulls his leg out and moves away.
Perhana scores with a jab to the jaw.
McNulty connects with a body shot that sends Perhana's belly button to the back.
Perhana throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

McNulty is looking to clinch but Perhana is avoiding it.

Pate Perhana is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Pate Perhana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Perhana throws a hook but McNulty blocks it.
Perhana bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McNulty shoots in but no luck this time.

McNulty shoots in looking for a takedown. Perhana tries to sprawl out of it but McNulty keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Perhana manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

McNulty darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Perhana throws out a loose jab but McNulty uses good head movement to avoid it.

McNulty seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Perhana for as long as he can get away with.

McNulty is looking to take a break and control but Perhana is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pate Perhana showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

McNulty changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Perhana looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Pate Perhana decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
In defeat, Mac McNulty stepped up to the mic, saying 'Fuck that! I didn't tap - and these judges are bullshit - this mother fucker here - hitting me with these baby leg kicks and shit, then walking around acting like he beat somebody - I ain't hurt - I'll still fuck you up - Come here bitch!'.
