Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yuuga Ikeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Alexander will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yuuga Ikeda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Alexander!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ikeda feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Alexander utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ikeda won't allow Alexander to get back to his feet.
Ikeda tries to free his leg and advance position but Alexander is retaining full guard.
Ikeda tries to stand but Alexander is controlling from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Alexander can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ikeda looking to pass the guard.
Ikeda is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at MMA Warrior (1000$ / 15 Elite Coaches) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Ikeda wants to stand but Alexander is controlling his posture from full guard.
Ikeda wants to control from the top but Alexander keeps moving.
Ikeda with a nice head shot there.
Ikeda postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Ikeda decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Alexander, up you get!

Alexander feints a jab promting Ikeda to slip. Alexander then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ikeda slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Ikeda clinches.
Alexander lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Ikeda.
Alexander lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ikeda backwards.
Alexander tries to throw a body punch but Ikeda avoids it by throwing Alexander back against the cage.
Alexander digs a right hand underneath Ikeda's ribcage. Ikeda let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alexander lands a right hand that snaps the head of Ikeda backwards.
Ikeda drops down looking for an ankle pick but Alexander pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ikeda dives in and grabs Alexander's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alexander pushes down on Ikeda's head and hops out.
Ikeda shoots in for a double leg but Alexander sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yuuga Ikeda. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Alexander lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Alexander throws a right hand that Ikeda ducks under and follows up with a left that Ikeda also avoids with ease.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Alexander gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Alexander gets through Ikeda's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Alexander on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Alexander blocks an elbow strike.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Alexander.
A hook to the body from Alexander.
Alexander can't find room to land a body shot as Ikeda controls the action.
Ikeda wants to stall.
Ikeda is trying to drag Alexander to the mat but Alexander just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ikeda is breathing heavily.
Alexander lands a nice uppercut.
Alexander struggles to land a body shot inside as Ikeda controls his hands.
Nice body punch from Alexander.
Alexander cracks Ikeda with a nice body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alexander misses with a hook to the ribs.
Alexander lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Alexander tries a body shot but Ikeda blocks it.
Alexander pushes Ikeda back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Alexander.
A left hand lands to the body for Alexander.
A right handed body shot lands from Alexander.
A right hook to the body lands for Alexander.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alexander scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Ikeda is trying to force a seperation but Alexander has the dominant position.
A shot in the inside from Alexander.
Alexander dips a shoulder and cracks Ikeda with a mighty uppercut! Ikeda falls back against the cage and Alexander unloads with a barrage of strikes! Ikeda is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Alexander screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daniel Alexander!
