3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ted Chips! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.

Callahan Jr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chips swats him away and circles back towards the center. Chips throws the left hand but Callahan Jr avoids the punch easily. Callahan Jr moves in looking to clinch but Chips pushes him off. Callahan Jr misses with a low kick.
Callahan Jr throws a sloppy head kick and Chips moves out of range easily. Callahan Jr fails in his attempt to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chips fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Callahan Jr sprawls well initially but Chips persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Chips is trying to control the action in half guard but Callahan Jr is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Callahan Jr blocking the ground and pound attempt from Chips. Chips thows a huge punch but Callahan Jr dodges it nicely.

Chips has gone for a leg lock! Callahan Jr slips out almost immediately though and dives into Chips's guard. Chips wants to sweep here but Callahan Jr controlling him for the moment. Callahan Jr pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chips is keeping the position for now.

Chips wants to sweep but no luck. Callahan Jr slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. You can see the frustration on Chips's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Callahan Jr working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Chips gets control of Callahan Jr's arms and successfully pulls guard. Chips will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Chips avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Chips trying to control the position.
Callahan Jr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chips swivels though and keeps the full guard. Chips trying to keep a closed guard but Callahan Jr is proving a slippery customer.
Chips lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Callahan Jr! Chips trying to control but Callahan Jr is having none of it. Callahan Jr slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Thomas R Callahan Jr will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Callahan Jr isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Chips stacks Callahan Jr on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Chips! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Chips cracks Callahan Jr with a big right hand but Callahan Jr just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Chips looks up at the clock and then as Callahan Jr takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Chips smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Chips shoots for a double leg takedown but Callahan Jr sprawls well. He's pushed Chips's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Chips lands with a right hand. Callahan Jr looks to land a combination but Chips avoids it well. Chips avoids the head kick by Callahan Jr.

Ted Chips showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
