Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barton Christensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Tremblay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barton Christensen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Tremblay!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tremblay bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Christensen pushes Tremblay away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Tremblay gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Tremblay throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Tremblay wants to stand but Christensen is controlling his arm.

Tremblay is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Christensen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Tremblay is trying to get an arm triangle but Christensen is defending well.
Christensen is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Tremblay tries to stand but Christensen controls the position and pulls Tremblay into his guard.

Tremblay is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Christensen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Christensen has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barton Christensen has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Tremblay fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Christensen to the ground. Tremblay is now in Christensen's guard.

Tremblay postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Christensen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tremblay, into his guard.
Christensen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Tremblay controls Christensen momentarily but Christensen frees himself.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Steve Tremblay hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Tremblay shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Tremblay stands up over Christensen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tremblay closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Tremblay is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Christensen has escaped the position, nice work there.
Christensen is looking for a sweep.

Tremblay thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Tremblay fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


It looks like Barton Christensen has been cut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tremblay wants to get back to his feet but Christensen is holding on tight.

Tremblay swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Christensen is now in Tremblay's guard. A big mistake from Tremblay there, giving up the dominant position!

Tremblay has his foot on Christensen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Christensen works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tremblay is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Tremblay wants to control the position but Christensen says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Tremblay manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Tremblay wants the takedown. Christensen is fighting it off but Tremblay persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Christensen's guard against the cage.
Christensen wants to sweep here but Tremblay controlling him for the moment.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tremblay accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Tremblay has gone for a leg lock! Christensen slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tremblay's guard.

Tremblay escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Christensen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Christensen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Tremblay manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Christensen sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Tremblay is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Christensen defends it well.

Tremblay is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
