The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salvador fails with the takedown and Christmas counters with a takedown into side control. Christmas grinds an elbow into Salvador's temple. Christmas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Salvador keeps working. Christmas landing a few strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Salvador tries to escape but Christmas is in control. Christmas working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Salvador is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Christmas off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Christmas scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Salvador is looking for a way out. Christmas has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Salvador's body.

Christmas trying to control the position from guard on top but Salvador is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Christmas advances position into side control! Christmas has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Salvador is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Christmas yanks on the arm and Salvador is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Christmas.
