The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clement avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Shang Chi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chi connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Clement momentarily.
Clement connects with a jab.
Chi throws a nice looking combination but Clement bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Clement looks to score with a jab to the body but Chi is just out of range.
Chi takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Chi slips under a jab from Clement.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Clement.
Good leg kick by Chi there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Chi lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chi looks to throw the jab but Clement is out of range.
Clement lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Chi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Clement.
Clement darts in looking for a takedown but Chi gets double underhooks and turns Clement into the cage.

Clement swings away with an uppercut that misses.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Clement creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Clement lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Clement lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Chi or not.
Chi lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Clement.
Clement has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Chi after a bit of a struggle.

That was a close round but I would say that Shang Chi will probably get the nod.

Chi throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Chi feints and then cracks Clement's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Clement down.
That kick from Chi tenderised Clement's leg. Clement is trying to keep his angry face on.

Chi connects with a solid leg kick.
A jab lands there for Clement.
Chi wants to slow Clement down by chopping away at his legs.
Clement tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Chi moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Clement fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Chi takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

and Clement counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Clement takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Chi is looking to improve his position.
Clement passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Chi!
Chi is in a horrible position here. Clement smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Clement goes for an armbar but Chi turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Chi.
Clement is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Clement is just content to waste time from the top position. Chi takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Clement has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Chi defend it? Clement steps over the head and cranks it - Chi is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Clement!

A very excited looking Jules Clement rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
